2016 Events

Earth Day – Saturday, April 16, 10-3 at the Phinizy Swamp from 10am - 3pm. Guild members can display and sell their art!
Set up is any time Friday noon to 7pm, or 7am to 9am on Saturday. We have been encouraged to set up on Friday, so anyone available for Friday, please contact Jane Waldrop at janewaldrop@knology.net.  You can bring your art on Saturday morning before 10am to the Phinizy Park or you can drop it off to Jane by Thursday evening. The art can be anything about nature or made from recycled or repurposed materials. There will also be children's activities provided for attendees.

Plein-Air Gathering - Saturday, May 7, 10-2, Church of Our Savior. The grounds of the Church provide all types of nature scenes and of course, the historical Stewart Hall. This is a outdoor, creative art function. Bring your own supplies, chair, TV tray or other table. Plan to bring a covered dish to share - picnic on the grounds, the old fashioned way. There is no cost for members to participate. A head count would be nice for planning purposes. Contact Jane Waldrop at janewaldrop@knology.net if you plan to attend.

Art in the Park – Saturday May 14, 10-5, Evans Towne Center Park behind Evans Library. Set up is Saturday, before 9:30 am. Set up takes an hour and a half with 2 tents, so be ready to help at 8:00 am. Contact Jane Waldrop at janewaldrop@knology.net if you plan to show art at this function. The guild has paid for 2 spots so we will have 2 tents, thanks to Eric, and will be able to display art in both and sell from both. Bring your art to sell by 9:30 so we can be ready by 10. We will have children's activities in one tent and guild promotions in the other. Break down takes 30 minutes and will be at 5 pm.

art after darkArt After Dark - Art After Dark is the Guild's signature event, held annually in November. It's an evening of art and entertainment when the Artists' Guild invites the community to experience an evening of visual art including watercolors, oils, acrylics, photography, pottery, fiber arts, jewelry, and mixed media exhibited by Guild artists.

Entertainment for previous AADs has included music by Hakim Rahsul, Bill Karp, Norton Wade, the Columbia County Choral Society, the Columbia County Ballet and more.  It's an event you won't want to miss, especially the  auction of art done by our very talented local celebrities.

ART-AT-THE-BARNArt in the Barn - Art in the Barn was the Guild's first show and was held at the Riverwood Plantation Clubhouse in 2005 and 2006.  Featuring wine tastings, live auctions of art and exhibits of members' artwork in various media, we had lots of fun and started an annual Guild tradition, now known as Art After Dark. For a look at the Guild's original exhibit, see pics.

Art in the Park is a county-sponsored event that takes place in May.
