Catherine Rausch Print E-mail

rausch22Catherine Montgomery Rausch discovered her passion for art as an elementary school girl, anticipating the weekly visits from Mr. Farini in fifth grade.

After graduating from high school in South Carolina, she attended Mercer University and received her Bachelor's degree in Art/Art Education in 1975. Since then, she has worked in a variety of art media, and has taught students in several public schools, in every grade from K4 to twelfth grade.

THE 80's: CALIFORNIA
In the 80's, Catherine lived in San Diego where she had 3 children, and narrowed her focus to large acrylic paintings. Because of the beautiful weather, she turned the garage into a large studio and painted while the children played. She was featured in "one-woman" art shows and was represented in several galleries.

THE 90's - NOW: GEORGIA
Since moving to Augusta in 1991, she has continued producing art and teaching students. She also received her Masters in Art Education from Georgia Southern University.

Recently she has introduced oils into her painting and has been working on the new series, titled, "Dreams and Visions". A number of her large paintings have been purchased by local collectors.

THE SIGNATURE
Catherine signs her paintings Montgomery Rausch in gratitude to her parents for all their support.
