Wayne Parker Print E-mail

Wayne Parker gave up golf after discovering a fascination for ROCKS when a friend invited him to dig minerals at a nearby mine. Three years later he is a self-taught stonecutter and jewelry artisan who sells his creations in local art galleries and at area festivals. His "StoneWear" line of pendants, earrings and bracelets is the culmination of what began as a rock-hounding hobby and evolved into a passion for creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry. Wayne begins with rough gemstone material that he has chosen for its vibrant color and bold, contrasting patterns. He cuts and polishes each stone to create a strong balance of proportion and then designs a setting that best reveals the stone's interesting focal point and beauty. The setting is individually fabricated using .925 sterling silver. Each piece is truly handcrafted and is a unique work of art. One of the great features of Wayne's creations is that they are just as appropriate for casual wear as they are with formal attire.

Wayne is an active member of the Southeastern Federation of Mineralogical Societies, Augusta Gem & Mineral Society, Aiken Gem & Mineral Society, Mountain Area Gem and Mineral Association and the Columbia County Artists' Guild. He and his wife, Terri, live in Evans.
