Artist Opportunities
We invite you to participant in Aiken Center for the Arts invitational non-juried art exhibition titled T'is the Season Invitational held in the Wyatt Gallery at the Arts Center from November 17 - December 30, 2010.
Requirements:
• Participants must be 18 years old and a member of the Arts Center.
• Each ACA member may exhibit two recent 2-D pieces which must be for sale.
• All works will be $300 or less (includes 60% artist and 40% ACA).
• Entries must be an original work completed within the last two years and not previously exhibited at ACA.
• All artwork must be framed or gallery wrapped, ready to hang (by wire), & not to exceed 24" x 24" framed.
• Sold artwork work may maybe taken by purchaser and be replaced (same size work) by artist.

Saturday, November 13 Artwork delivery 10 a.m. - Noon
Wednesday, November 17 Exhibition opens
Thursday, November 18 Opening Reception 6 - 8p.m.
Thursday, December 9 Opening Reception, Night of 1000 Lights, 5p.m. - on
Thursday, December 30 Exhibition closes at 5:00p.m. (DO NOT pick up artwork)
Friday, December 31 Pick up artwork 10a.m. - noon
Please deliver the following with your artwork:
1. The enclosed contract - signed
(Please note the Art Center takes a 40% commission on gallery sales)
2. Completed Identification Information (section at bottom) attached to the back bottom left of your artwork and a copy to hand in at registration.

The Augusta-Richmond County Library has just installed a hanging system and is looking for individuals to hang/sell their work. They are looking for approximately 3-4 works to be hung and in the gift shop they are looking for small paintings, jewelry, pottery. The commission rate will be 70% for the artist and 30% going to the library. If you are interested in this opportunity please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The Greater Augusta Arts Council Wet Paint Party is currently set for December 2, 2010 at Sky City.
Member Artists will be able to hang 1 or 2 works of art (depending on the amount of interest). Artists will be able to set the price that they would like for their art work; this is the minimum bid. If the art work sells for above the minimum bid the Arts Council will receive the difference. This means you will get all of what you ask for your work if it sells.
Sky City will be smoke-free for this event.
The event will be free and open to members; this includes the new membership base the Contemporaries.

The Westobou Festival, designed to celebrate excellence in the arts, will showcase a variety of performances and presentations by local, regional, and nationally-recognized artists, primarily in the disciplines of dance, music, theater, and visual arts. The 10-day festival takes place in downtown Augusta, GA, and surrounding areas.
Each year, a visual artist will be selected to "represent" the festival in marketing and promotional materials including - but not limited to - print advertising, billboards, t-shirts, tickets, programs, and press releases.
The 2010 artist is international artist, Philip Morsberger. This application is for the consideration for the 2011 Festival.

The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art is pleased to announce its 2010 national juried fine art competition, A Sense of Place. Open to participants ages 18 and older from throughout the United States, this 30th annual event seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by contemporary American artists. Juried by noted Savannah, Georgia artist Betsy Cain, the 2010 competition accepts work in the following media: painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. A non-refundable fee of $25 enables the artist to enter a CD with images of up to three works; additional works may be submitted at a cost of $5 each. Cash prizes totaling $1,750 will be given, including a Best of Show Award and two Juror's Awards. If you're a member of the Guild, you can participate in shows at Queensborough Bank, Columbia County Government offices and libraries, and other public places where lots of people will view your art.
The Jacqueline Casey Hudgens Center for the Arts is very pleased to announce The Hudgens Prize visual arts competition and juried show. Open to any artist living as a full time resident in the state of Georgia, aged 18 and up, the competition will bestow a $50,000 cash award and an invitation for a solo exhibit upon one selected artist.
The winning artist will be announced at an Award Celebration held in conjunction with the final juried show, which will run from November of 2010 until February, 2011.
The Greater Augusta Arts Council is committed to helping artists in the CSRA and in an effort to provide more opportunities for artists in our area has partnered with Earth Fare to bring members of the Greater Augusta Arts Council free hanging space. Featured artists of Earth Fare will also be able to give art talks/host an arts related event while their work is being displayed.

North Augusta has a beautiful new venue for artists in the area. Located across the 13th Street bridge on the left, the new Arts and Heritage Center features a two-story art gallery and a gift shop. If you haven't seen it yet, it's really worth a visit. The Augusta Photography Festival will be displayed there next summer and the North Augusta Artists Guild has shown their work also.
Artists may apply to have their work shown on the exhibit floor or in the gift shop. To apply, fill out an application, include a sample of your work and a $25 fee.
